Presented by Gerardas Dambrauskas PhD, Director Commercial Operations, EMEA at Swift Biosciences

With the recent onset of SARS-CoV-2 variants a deeper understanding is needed of viral genome mutations causing its instability. Whole genome sequencing is the only answer to track existing and identify novel variants. Here at Swift Biosciences, we developed SARS-CoV-2 full genome coverage amplicon based panel and elegant protocol to be used for this purpose. [Click here to see the news]

The coverage of the Spike Gene dropout 69-70, N501Y, E484K, K417N mutations will be discussed: E484K and K417N mutations being characteristic to South African variant, similarly the dropout 69-70 and N501Y being attributed to UK variant only. The viral tracking published study monitoring the first wave of SARS-CoV-2 in Italy will be presented.
